Default Looking to buy a D250. Help?

Hey guys. Came across a 1991 D250 regular cab 5 speed with the 12 valve rotary pump. He says it's all stock besides a new injection pump about 2 years ago and a little bigger injectors and truck has 280,000. He's asking 2500 bucks.

I already have a 95 12 valve for my daily but my plans for this is to turn it up and put some nice power to it instead of tearing up my daily driver.

I'm going to look at it tomorrow. What should I look for and is $2500 a steal? I can't find any for this price in Colorado. All around 5k-7k.

Do know about a steel I lucked up and found a running and driving for $900.
Leaks and rust are the biggest things to look for. Trans shifts good? If its a 5sp it would be a plus.

No rust on the body. A little leak on the side of the oil pan but a pretty clean truck. It is a 5 speed. Thanks for the input

Yes sir! She's pretty clean. Needs new paint but that's about it. Ill be putting some power to her soon! Thanks!

Only thing is the speedo, odometer, and trip meter doesn't work. Ill go ahead and replace the VSS and if that doesn't do it. Hopefully the gears in the tach are busted.

I would do it. I paid $2900 for my first D250. Got the second for $1000 (blown rear end). Friend got a '93 D250 for $3500. All 5 speeds.
