external voltage regulator charging at 24volts .... help
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
so im having a problem. i used the mopar external regulator that was said to be used. i am funnring my cummins and it am getting 24 volts to the battery from the charge wire to the battery from the alternator. i wired the key on power to the top terminal on the pyramid and the other wire to the other terminal on the alternator....... my question is did i do something wrong. the other thing i am wondering is.. i hooked key on power directly to the terminal on the back of the alternator that the top pyramid terminal on the regulator is hoooked to. i am confused why it didnt work??

I answered this question over on the other board you posted this on....just rewire to the schmatic that was enclosed....take your time and do it right. Also, if you add the external regulator....disconnect the ECM from your charging system.
