Default Where to start first

Alright so I'm unsure where to start. I have a 93 D250 intercooled, 5 speed. Has around 290,000 miles. I have a new clutch on it and had a valve adjustment done and some other minor things. My family has owned it since it was brand new. Long story short its mine now and I want to shoot for the 600-800hp range. Next month I am getting an ASA modified cold air intake for it. What company does anyone recommend for gauges? I was thinking ISS pro. After the EGT guage I was thinkin about getting a 4" hogan intercooler and new piping along with a 4" down pipe and exhaust. Any ideas to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. also im lost on a turbo selection. I was thinking a 60mm compressor upgrade and either a 14cm waste gated or a 16cm not waste gated turbine from gillet diesel. Is there an order i should do these upgrades in? any ideas ?

I agree it's alot. Should make for a fun ride. This goal has been a dream the entire year in Afghanistan, now it's time to make it a reality any suggestions.

Nitrous with a 14mm VE, or do a p-pump swap. Plus a big single, or twins. The VE won't give you 600 without alot of money dumped in your truck, and few guys have gotten that much out of it.

Thanks for the info 92 betsy. To get to that HP range would it be beat to just do the p pump swap? Would you happen to know a good website to research what the swap would entail. what company do you reccomend for turbos? i really like the twins but think im going to stick with a single for now. would you reccomend doing an aftermarket cam and head as well? And if so is it worth the money to have the intake plenum cut off and head machined to put the individual runner intake on? Again thanks for the info 92 Betsy I got a direction to head in now.

P-pump conversion slash engine swap. - Dodge Cummins Diesel Forum
Here's some info. may want to think about just getting a 2nd gen 12v, and swap the whole motor. A cam and head would be a good idea for sure at that power level. To figure out power mods with a p-pump check out the 2nd gen forums. But 644hp I think is the max with fuel only on a 1st gen 14mm ve, and that was STOMP that did that. Expect a lot of money in the trans alone to get there though. Good luck.

160Hp 400Ft/Lbs
600Hp ~1500Ft/Lbs
800Hp ~2000Ft/Lbs

Relatively speaking you are gonna need to beef up the frame and look into wider tires and one heck of a tranny to back up that engine. The first gen 12 valve will do that amount of HP but its going to take work. P-pumping will do the job for sure but personally I'm a VE guy.

First thing I would do is get a bulletproof suncoast transmission to get started and then go from there on to a heavier axel and then go for the engine modifications.

Looking forward to seeing your build buddy!
