No wonder it smokes so long before it clears up, takes till probably 2200rpm to finally spool up . So, where do you get different housings?

A 16cm will still be laggy...............if it were me I'd just look for a decent used HX35 w/ a 12cm housing and go from there (it'll bolt right up!).

16 will be ten times better than what you have but the lag will show up after you get used to it. Go to HTT TURBO they have all sorts of upgrades for what you have andwill save you some cash.

Look around on eBay and various Diesel Forum classified's. If the 16 has too much lag, then you can find a non-wastegated 14, but that's not recommended for anybody that spends time on the freeway.

There are also 12 cm and 14 cm wastegated models available, which I would call the ideal modifications. 14 cm w/g models are way too expensive, though.

Prices hover around $200 new, $100 used.
