I know this post is old but I'm new to the site and hoping to shed some light on this subject. I checked my IP and looks like it falls under the recall. My question is how did y'all get yours replaced so easily? I called 2 dealerships and then called Chrysler directly (persistant, I know). Still, only thing they tell me is they launched the recall in 1994 and ended it in 1995. Same answer from all three. Is it possible I'm just SOL. Keep in mind my trucks got probably about 750,000 miles at least (odometer broke 10 years ago at 216,000 and used as a work truck after that so who knows), so my pumps still going strong but if I can get a new IP under recall I'm going for it. Any help on what to do would be appreciated. Thanks!

I told them about recall #605 and even that the recall has been honored recently but they still tell me that it expired in 1995. I could understand somewhat the dealers not wanting to honor it but I called the Chrysler service line and still got nowhere. What are the odds of all three places I called saying the exact same thing?

With the dealership trying to tell you that the recall was over in '95, tell them, "great". Now ask them to use your VIN to look up if that recall was ever performed on your truck. (They can do this at the service counter... I've seen them do it...) Now, when they say no, that recall was never done, you need to start asking to see their boss, or his bosses' boss, or someone. They are still liable for it as it is a SAFETY issue. We are not talking about paint fading or carpet that rips easily. Hell, print out this thread and show the bastards. I did not have a good experience with my local dealership. They suck, period. But I did get a new pump due to a twenty year old safety recall on Bosch injection pumps, and I got it in November of 2012 in Statesboro, Ga.

Thanks everybody for all your help. I'll have a dealership look at the VIN again. Hopefully I'll get the answer I want from them. Goes to show you how the people around here in VA really are. I'll keep y'all updated on how it goes. Thanks again everybody.

Well, uh, heehee....want to put a stop to the bullsh-t? If you have a pump on your engine, that lands under the recall, just get in touch with the NTSB and/or call the Dodge factory, whereever it is these days, and talk to customer relations SUPERVISOR, tell them what you got, and this will be put into 'Oh Sh-t Mode'! With Dodge, You have to talk softly and carry big stick if they're in a pissy mood. The more BIG PEOPLE that you have in on this, the better for you. Theres a magic phrase that you use to expedite your process. IE, I took my truck to a friend who was a Dealer Mechanic. He looked at my truck, then said I had a safety recall notice with this IP on my engine. I am now scared for my safety by them not taking action immediately on this. ( This sounds like a lawyer has advised you or your a person that might go get one). This will put them in the mood to change your pump, if it does indeed need to be changed under the recall. The lax attitude is probably from a bunch of 'Good Ole Boys', who don't know any better and come from the inbred part of the local population....

Next chance I get, I'll double check the numbers on the IP so I don't look like a complete idiot when I talk to them. Then it's the long ladder of bullshit I'm gonna have to climb to get the answer I want. Thanks everybody for your help!

To the original poster, what kind of a service recall papers did the dealership gave you?

i just need to collect as much information as possible about this injection pump safety recall...
