Good choice leaving it stock. Is the headache rack necessary? I think that would take away from its factory look.

the blue book on these trucks is surprisingly low although i have never found one especially 4x4 with an asking price anywhere close to as low as the book value. I gave a pretty penny for mine but damn theres just somethin awesome about cruisin around in a first gen. these trucks are worth their weight in gold due to their simplicity dependability and the power of that cummins

by the way that is one lucky find for 3500 congrats my friend

I'd say about 5-6K all day long.

I know you wanna keep it stock but I would atleast add a 4" exhaust and bigger air intake. It will breathe better which means a lil more power, better fuel economy and with it being non intercooled help egt's a lot.

idk where you guys are finding these trucks with that kind of miles for 5 or 6 k but dang that would be a steal haha...around my aera you wouldn't have a problem fetching 12k or more for a truck like that. theres a few first gens on craigslist with 230k+ miles and there asking around 8k for them...
