Default What size IC is big enought?

When I got my truck it had an IC on it however they mounted it under the cab with fans. Good idea if it wasn't packed full of mud and dirt and wasnt so close to the hot ground so I took it out. I'm now looking into what size to put in, in front of the radiator. Any suggstions and where to find one to buy? I found A great priced on on Craigslit but the pipes I don't think would connect properly. Any other advice and ideas one could lend? Thanks

Either a 1st gen IC, or some guys like to upgrade to a power stroke IC for more flow, I think the 99-2002 strokers had the aluminum ends. Not sure how that would fit in your chevy but they can be found for pretty cheap and are quite a bit bigger than a stock IC.

I met a guy once with a 88 chevy fullsize with a cummins in it. He said a stock 2nd gen rad fit like a glove flipped upside down there was two holes in the rad support already n it fit right in them holes like it was meant to be.

It sounds like you and I have a very similar setup. What mileage are you getting and what exhaust are you running? I don't know the rear gearing in mine and mine is 2wd.

I pulled my 5th Wheel home after working over the radiator. fan clutch, and the oil seal etc... The most I ran was coming home was about 900 egt's on a long grade, water temp was 185-190 at the hottest, 2100 rpm at 70mph and the most boost was about 21lbs boost 150 degrees on the tranny. Seems reasonable to me other than my mileage sucks big time.

I get about 15-16 in town and have got 18.5 a few times unloaded. towing my toyhauler i get 12-15 depending on grades. I have 3 inch exhaust to the muffler and then 4 out. i have the 3 piece exhaust manifold. i am attemting to put my 4 inch downpipe on in the morning. (we will see how that goes.) if i keep my foot in it for a long period it will get to 1100 /1150. My boost is crazy w.o.t 38lbs hopefully the bigger downpipe helps that. my trans is a th400 and norm 150/160 on a long grade with the trailer hooked it will hit 180. water temps run 180. after the 4 inch i plan on messing with the afc some to hopefully gain some milage. i would be okay with 19mpg because the pig weights 7300lbs

we have a very a similar setup. I need to figure out what turbo i have as well as rear gears. I am looking to go 4" exhaust as well as soon as I can get a down-pipe and find someone that can bend that size pipe. I have straight 3" currently. Keep me posted on how yours is coming along. Thanks
