My 11 year old son, read this, thread and asked a few questions,He asked why so many negitive replys. and notice that a few had a couple differance comments about rolling coal, one guy has a few neg. comments about it,but his status is (ROLLING COAL) Thats the pot calling the kettle black. Now this is my son pointing this. i would bet that at least 85 % to 90% of the people that left neg. comments go to truck pulls and diesel drag races, Where there is plenty of smoke all day. and they walk around all day with little woodys in there pants, every time they see smoke.and at the end of the nite, Half of those trucks that ran that day drive out the gate of the fairgrounds or race tracks. Leaving a trail of smoke .you dont see them ripping on those people or chasing them down and telling them smoke is bad.just ahhh thats cooooooool . This site for first gens. seems to be fading . not as many threads being posted.Just wondering if it from all of the negitivty. I told my kids that if you cant say anything nice dont say anything at all.You guys should be going to the truck stops and telling the truck drivers to turn there trucks down, they smoke to much when pulling 80,000 across the interstate.See what they tell you or do to you.It wont be pretty. But they can sit behind thier computers and rip this kid a new rear end just for asking a question. just our input on this.

The drag races and sled pulls aren't in the publics face blowing smoke. I like seeing my truck smoke some when I'm cruising on a back road with no one around. But as far as trying to get my truck to smoke no, I have spent alot of time trying to keep a turned up pump from smoking in traffic. Doing it in public is just costing us the trouble of more regulations that screw the whole diesel community. Plus the power those guys usually make, means more smoke which is a side effect sometimes of power. If he wants to make power than he just needs to ask how, and most would gladly tell him the pump mods to get power but also cause smoke. But asking how to roll coal I won't tell him how to turn up the pump because he will smoke out everyone on the road, and I get pissed when I'm in the wifes car with the kids when some little punk "rolls coal" into my window for my little ones to breath.

I'm new here but couldn't agree more. These cummins are workhorses, not toys. Now their priced beyond belief because of people buying them to be "cool". When I moved from California, there were more lifted diesels in the welfare office parking lot than stock trucks in any given construction yard. As always, the demand drove the price of the trucks and the fuel up. The more lifted these guys made their trucks, the louder their exhausts, the more environmentalists would complain to any media source willing to listen. It's just like the harley guys hating the guys with the loudest pipe, it makes sense.

On another note, anyone who would want to make their truck smoke more is obviously obnoxious and a pain in the *** to live around. These trucks are for working men who get jobs done. I have been in construction for 15 years, and when I'm not going to work I drive a '89 accord that I got for $1, I'm not trying to impress anyone. IMHO, If a teenager wants to roll coal, he should be driving a corrolla with a fart can not a cummins. Something seriously wrong with the young blood these days

that is why my son was asking these questions , a few want to educate him and the rest want to ridacul him , by saying check you spark plugs ,put a bag over your air filter. you where asuming that all he wanted to do , maybe he though more smoke ment more power . why ripe him a new butt. where i go to the truck pulls are at a small fairgrounds and a round the fairgrounds are houses and in those houses are with kids and elderly. that smokes travels, you dont think the epa nuts dont look at those places.dont get me wrong i love truck pulls. my son thought that was wrong. to disgrace this guy (kid). and so do i.
