Default Dash Bezel Removal

I need to remove my dash bezel on a 1998 Cummins. My goal is to attach the lights from the pillar guages to the dash lights [dimmer/bright] switch. Is there a special tool remove the bezel without destroying it. Thank you.

Flat head screw driver Just be careful not to crack it... VERY easy to do

It should pull off by hand pretty easily. Be aware that there is a screw in the power outlet. Mine is in the upper right hand corner, but you have a stick so it's probably somewhere else. Maybe in your cup holder if that's what's up there. Otherwise, put your thumbs in the left corner of instrument cluster hole with your fingers on top, squeeze it hard and pull. Once you get it started there you can slip your fingers in the headlight switch hole and it'll come the rest of the way easy. Just be careful not to get too carried away in one spot all at once, because they love to crack on top right in the middle.

Well it'll probably be different than the early model 2nd gen 12 valves. Dodge redid the dash in 97, so idk how those round dashes come off.

You might want to post this in the 2nd Gen group. The last year for 1st gen trucks was '93

This is the 2nd gen group. He may want to ask in the 98.5-02 section of the second gen group, since they all have this dash unlike the 94-98 section where only a handful of 98's do.

No. There is a screw at the power port you must remove that before pulling anything or it wont come off.

I got it off. I always ask you DB Members before attempting anything on my truck because if I break It I will have to go to town and I HATE going to town, especially to DODGE. Thank all of you.
