Default Dead pedal when first starting. any ideas.

When I first start the truck(it a 96 ext cab dually 4x4) in the morning and try to take off right away it doesn't want to go. If let it warm up for 5 to 10 minutes it will take off. I do let it warm up before I go anywhere but I'm wondering if that is normal or something wrong. It has a brand new transmission. Could it be the TPS? If it is were can I get a good one. If anyone give me any help I thank you.

Torque convertor draining when it sits. After starting it up the pump has to fill it up before it will move.

Hey that makes sense. Is that normal or is something wrong?

That makes sense and I would say its not good and def. Not normal. So you have throttle but just no gears at first? That's what your meaning right.

Ya throttle but doesn't take off right away. I would change torque converter if I know thats what it is but thats a big job and costly. Now what i do know is that i just put a new tranny in less then a 1000 miles ago because it shifted funny plus I had the problem with the take off. But now it shifts great after it gets going. Now 1 thing that I did see when I pull the tranny is that 1 flywheel bolt had come loose and scarred up the flywheel and got jammed in a notch in the motor. i am wondering if that bolt could have screwed up the torque converter. Any ideas?

Have you checked the tranny fluid level? The manual says that it is normal for that truck to do it a little, meaning a few seconds to a minute but not several minutes. Reason I asked about fluid level is mine got low on fluid and it got real bad.

Yes I checked the tranny fluid but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to check it in park or in neutral because in park it is fine but in neutral it shows low. my book does not say which way. And it does not do it for several minutes. It's about a minute. When it colder it does it a little longer.

You are supposed to check them in neutral as far as I know.
