i have a 1996 dodge 2500 5 spd and it started making a noise sounding like the starter was engaging while running but it only does it going up to speed and its not continually just like shots. but it will do it if u barely take off in 1 then hit second and increase rpm but only when the trucks moving. i know its not the starter because i took it off and drift started it and took it down road and it still does it. has anyone had this happen before and if so can u help me?

 

Is truck auto or standard? How many miles? What mods?

its standard 175000 and only mod is the fuel plate. i found it is the transmisson maybe a bearing inside
