i have 96 truck made in 5/96 and wonder if it has re or rh what is easy way to tell?

 

look under the hood nd read the tag..

 

no tag from hood being replaced.

 

tranny pans different maybe?

 

the last 47rh i saw had a smooth pan, mine has ridges on botom, so is it a 47re? i know ther is extra wires just where and what do they look like, and how many?

I just figured out how to tell. the rh has a 15" overdrive housing, and the re has a 11" housing. which meanes drive shaftes are diffrent.

 

Good to know. My RE has a smooth pan, so I knew that wasn't it.

 

So does anyone know a better way to tell? found a 47 out of a 95 one ton and the guy doesnt know what it is. the truck is junked.

 

Don't quote me, but I believe the RE didn't hit until 1997, so from a '95 it should be the RH.
