warped head oil in water.
so i have this 98 12 valve that i now have like 30gs into. i love it but i kinda hate it to. about 3 monthes ago i thought my oil cooler was leaking. oil in water. no water in oil. replaced it still had oil in water. just figured it was left over in all the coolant passages. then it got worst. fast. never got hot but i new my head was cracked or blown gasket. i pulled head brought to machine shop had it check no crack. needed to be machined. took 10 thousands off. said everything else looked really good. had valves done. i pulled motor out to reseal it aswell an doing a colt cam an a bunch over stuff that i probably dont need. my question is the only head gasket i could find is 25thousands thicker. im also going to b running the super phat shaft 64 an some arp head studs. the extra 15k shouldnt b a problem? an any tips for cleaning the rest of the cooling system. got rad out an super flushed it. thanks sorry for the long babble.

Cant help you on most of that, but on our heavy equipment we us cascade dishwashing detergent to clean the cooling system. Mix it up in a 1 gallon jug and shake it up real good so it desolves, drain all the antifreeze you can out of the system. Then dump your detergent in, fill it up with water, get it up to operating temp. Drain it out. If it's still dirty, repeat until it comes out clean. Doesnt make bubbles and works great!
