so my belt tensioner is not makeing the belt tight enough ive tried for hours to get it to go tight i did have a bad alternator replaced that and new batteries. ive heard the tensioner is a problem in cummins. any thoughts??

 

Yeah tensioners go bad. I would just replace it.

 

I didn't know that the tensioners could go bad on the cummins. Mines been bouncing about and squealing for awhile now, anyone know an estimate on a new one?

tensioner is a good thing to replace at about 200k

 

well def time to replace then ive got 234k. but been having alot of problems keeping batteries charged so i think thats the last problem

 

I've got 237k on my 95. Deff gotta replace some stuff.
