ac charge kit?

It could possibly do the trick but if a low charge isn't the problem it won't do u any good. It also will be a waste if there is a large leak. Before I knew any better I did the DIY kit stuff myself and more than once had it last less than a day because of a leak. Now that I have a full set of ac equipment and some training I basically view the DIY kits as a joke. I also despise ac "leak stop" and believe it to be of the devil I've had it cause me some serious distress attempting to repair a system for a customer who thought it would get them off cheap. Poor bastards, cost them more in the long run. If u decide to do it yourself I recommend putting some dye in the system when u charge it so if it does leak u can take it to a shop with a uv light and they will be able to se where it leaked. That will save u a little from them having to add dye and charge it again to be able to find it.

get a diag. A/C is a sealed system it should never get low so there is a leak probably.if you dont want to go to a shop you can charge the system and add dye and look for the dye with a uv light then try to replace parts that a leaking and recharge but its a pain if you dont know what your doing. if you have a school that teaches automotive classes you can always try to get a free diag from a class. people do that to us all the time in VA

Would soap and water in a spray bottle do the same as dye? just spray around all the fittings? if there is a leak can I find it with out having to buy anything pop the hood and check all my fitting with a spray bottle will i need the AC on at that time in order to find the leak (make since to me to) or do you have to use dye. I would way rather DIY this than a shop but if I have to I will take it in I dont really want to sink myself over AC thanks for the info guys
