I know, that is why we advanced the timing. Truck has got 220k and after timing was advanced it helped out A LOT. And yeah it seemed a little low to me also, it has always been farily low though. And no his truck is bone stock. Anything in the pump you know of that would randomly keep fuel from getting through/to the pump dvs-return?

the shut down solenoid or low fuel pressure. or possible a bad OFV but that is a very big maybe... stretch the spring and see.

do you know how much pressure the lift pump is pushing? that or a faulty relay and what not. aaahhhh if only a 12v could be completely mechanical

Im headed his way this weekend. Probably rig up a fuel pressure gauge. That will help a lot.

Will do. Hopefully we will have time b/c he needs it fixed. Knowing will more than likely help diagnosing/troubleshooting the problem.

Will have to wait till the next weekend hopefully we can find something out then. I dont get out of college for this semester till wed. this week.

Its been a while sorry for the wait on an update but been out of the country for a while.

Must of been where it was sitting for a while is all i can figure because the truck is running good now. Thanks for all the advice and tips yall.

had a similar problem with an 01 commercial with mechanical lift pump. I used old o ring with new filter. was driving from corpus to fourchon la. every 2 weeks, and would always
fail at least once per week. eventually replaced o ring and problem went away.
