EGTS
I had a question about EGTS, I know EGTS increase when your dumping fuel. Today I had a tailgate retard on me, and it was someone I knew so I torque switched it at 30 mpg and layed into it and left a nice 1/4 mile trail behind me to get them to back off. I noticed when the truck was lugged down (switching at 30 just bogs it down) and just rolling smoke building no boost, my EGTs were staying pretty low, rising slowly until the turbo spooled then they shot way up as I built speed, why do EGTs stay so low until the turbo spools

no my turbo is non wastegated, the previous owner REMOVED it and welded the housing. I mean if im cruising down the road, 30 mph, let off of the throttle, hit the switch and then floor it, the engine just lugs down, and doesnt really pick up speed it just rolls the smoke. probe is in the manifold.

cause you not making any RPMS. heat is made everytime youe engine goes bang right? so if your engine isnt going bang a gagillion times a second it isnt making lots and lots of heat. it when you can rev your engine WAY ou and continue to fuel it WAY hard that your egt will sky rocket because you cant move enough air to cool things down. right now there is nothing to cool down or very little to cool down because there is no fire in her belly.
