Need help with tires?!
 

Hey guys!

I have a 1995 Dodge Ram 3500 4WD dually with the 5.9 12 valve.

It is time for some new tires and I really want to go bigger than what I have. (235/85/16R)
What is the biggest tire I can fit under there with all stock suspension? I don't really mind the occasional front tire rubbing while turning sharp. If I go big enough I know I will want to get a spacer in between the rear wheels so they don't rub together but that wont be a problem because I have that available.

I wouldn't mind putting a 2" leveling kit on the front to give it a better stance and I can fit some more tire under the front.

I don't really tow but the occasional little dirt bike trailer and maybe a 10,000 pound race car trailer MAYBE once a year.

Any thoughts on tire size/brand would be greatly appreciated!

I have a 98 2wd and I am putting a 2inch leveling kit on the front and it would be nice to know what size I can fit after its installed?

33's (285's) will fit and wont rub. If you go with 35's you might want the leveling kit.

No way? Those are huge! Lol. I can make a jump from 235's to 285's??

285's look good on a dually, I wouldn't go any bigger on narrow dually rims :c:

285 is the width 285 mm sidewall to sidewall, 75 would be the aspect ratio meaning from the ground to the rim would be 75% of 285 mm, And yes 285/75R16 is what you want.:c:

Ohhh. Excellent. Thanks a bunch :) any suggestions of what's a good tire for a good price? Something under $200 would be excellent. I really like the look of the mean aggressive tire but in reality I'm not going mudding or anything... So I don't really want the big mud grapplers but I also don't want a boring tire.

You're not gonna get much in a 285 for under 200 these days, priced a Bridgestone Deuller Revo 10 ply the other day and they were on sale for 254 :c:

So I've been lookin around. I really like the General Grabber AT 2 and I found it for about $180, the General Grabber for around $230, the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO for $203 and I REALLY like the tires on my dad's 07.5 Duramax(Nitto Terra Grapplers) and I could find those for around $230 also.

Any comments on Nitto, General Tire, or the BFGoodrich tires? I like most of the BFGoodrich tires but they can get pretty pricey!
