Installing performance torque converter 47rh
I want to begin building up my 1995 dodge 2500 4x4 to do sled pulls. IT is auto and I would like to do my torque converter. I am looking at getting a triple disc low stall one(1250-1400 stall speed). Can any of you guys tell me if this is a good place to start?I want to start here because my truck really only has power when the tc is locked.Who is a good supplier, and is it something I could install myself without a lift or should I hire someone? How much should I expect to spend? Thanks in advance.I hope you can give some imput.
p.s. if you can tell me how this will effect fuel economy/acceleration that would be great!

acceleration will be alot better, goerend......suncoast make good triple disks. if ur gonna pull with it i would think about a VB and a billet input and flexplate also... you can do it your self in the garage but u will need a good trans jack. there are several good TC companys out there.... the 2 above seem to just be very popular. i have seen the centers rip right out if the stock flexplate with 350hp... not pulling anything.

my viscus 5 star with a 1400rpm stall ABSOLUTLY BANGS into gear! HARD when going from park to R or park to D or whatever. its great once you are going but hard on stuff when you are first getting it into gear. also when the fluid is cold it will stall the engine upon initial shifts stated above.
