What did the fuel filter smell like?
I had a similar problem for about 2 months and on the second month. Decided to sniff my used fuel filter, and what I smelt was gasoline. I know I didn't fill it with gasoline, so I suspect the station contaminated their own Diesel with Gas. Been going to that same station for about 5 years. And now... just adopted a new station. Never going to that station again...

Which kinda sucks because they had this one pump that was for big rigs, and it would fill up my tank in a couple of minutes, if not less. These other pumps go so slow that it takes about 7 minutes to fill up. I hate that.... Not to mention having to wait for these gasoline people to get off the diesel pump, when there are like 10 other gasoline pumps with no one on them. Although, I've gotten used to that.....

OR if this just happened right after you bolted the afc back on? is the shut down syolonoid jammed/bound at all. it has to be free moving while you tighten the bolts back down or it wont engage when you turn the key to start it and THUS no fuel!!! been there done that.[/QUOTE]

BLAMMO!!! such a tricky little bastard
