I bought a 96 12 valve and I was wondering what's the tallest tires I can put on it without them rubbing? It has a 4" lift. It currently has 33" tires on it now. Would it be okay to put 35's on it?

 

Yea you will be fine with 35's.

 

Even if it's a 4" leveling kit?

Yea, still should be fine. How close are your 33's to rubbing anything? If you have a couple inches to play going all the way through your steering from lock to lock each way then you should be fine. If your 33's are close when steering is at full lock then your 35 will probably rub a little, just can turn as sharp.

If you have aftermarket rims they might have a deeper off set where they stick out further which would give you more clearance.

Their kinda close on the front. When I turn the wheel now I hear a grinding noise. Any idea what that is from?

 

Like a wheel rubbing on something grind? If that is the case then look for bare metal spots where the tire is rubbing: inner fender, fender, frame...

 

I don't think it's the tires. It more like a grind
