im trying to sell my 97 dodge ram 3500 4x4 1 ton dually guy test drove it is used to 6 speeds he said it sounds like there should be another gear in there before over drive kicks in it kicks in around 50 mph how many times willl or should it shift i myself havent had issues driving it but can only feel 3 then over drive any help would be appreciated

 

It's probably just a 4-5 speed, mine feels like it should have another gear but it don't, it's a 5 speed

there isnt a problem with your truck the guy just wanted to jew you down. 3 spd with OD. if the truck is turned up at all 123 go REAL fast and RPMs barley change. almost always in all trucks autos have 1 less gear.
