hello everybody, i am wondering wear i can get some 3.55 gears and i havent done anything like this before and im wondering if i will need any special tools or anthing extra when i do the swap. trying to get fuel milage a little better and i dnt need 4.10 for what i do. would love to get 3.73's but i am told they were never an optoin for my truck so i dnt know if swapping to them was possible

you gonna need a new carrier to go with 3.55's ... also they make 3.73s if you want them same price as a new R and P 3.55

 

Where can I get ring and pinion and carrier? I'll be damned if I can find anything really on the net. Thanks!

here is my opinion. go to a diesel performance place and ask if they know anybody wanting to trade gears. this is how i went from 3.55 to 4.10 the first time. the owner (my buddy) here in wv set the deal up and gears were traded out. you got to have somebody set them up right.

 

Thanks. I will give that a shot but where can I buy if that does not work out? I don't understand why I'm not finding anything. I have set up gears before on my muscle car. But I was going to have somebody do these.

 

i have a 97 2500, 5 speed with 355s. i would trade you if you interestd. dana60 front, dana 80 rear. and i think carier is the same, but not shure. if so i would trade also.

 

im interested for sure . but it coukd be tricky...this is my daily driver. not sure i could wait to recieve the 3.55s.
