today i took my truck out to go pick up a tractor once i arrived i let the truck run while i took care of loading the tractor, this may have been 15 minuets i got back to the truck to fund a big pool of watered down oil underneath, i kill the truck and investigate the coolant overflow tank was completley full of the oil coolant mix. the oli was low so i put some oil in it to fire it up, there was a noticable thumping noise at the front of the engine, as i looked some more the side of my truck had the oil cooland mixed here and there as well as the whole left side of my engine compartment which means it started somewhere while i was goin down the road, i never noticed anything like this prior. a few of us kind of narrowed it down a little to the head gasket or maybe the dowel pin. any help would be nice, thank you.

 

mine did the same thing sounds like a blown head gasket or possably the oil cooler. mine was a blown head gasket

 

thanks man gives me somewhere to start i havent been a diesel owner awfully long, there is still a good bit i dont know.

 

you saw the oil mixed with the coolant...... so u added more oil and started it back up?

 

sounds like headgasket, really need to get that dowel pin took care of. id take a blown head gasket over that thing falling out.
