It leaks where the tranny and engine mate. My tranny fluid is good. It smells a bit like gear oil. There's a few small drips coming off the front diff. I'm hoping it's not the rear main.

Is it tranny fluid or engine oil if its engine oil the you rear main proably went out which is common its an eight dollar seal. If its red the front seal on the imput shaft went out on the transmission side. Ive done rear mains and it generally take me about five hours to yank the tanny and replace the rear main and throw it all back togeather but if its engine oil you rear main out for the count.

I'm guessing it's the rear main then. Except it's cold out and I don't have a garage

Ya i know how that feels have to change out a block heater on my tractor the other day and it never got above -1 degress.

I rebuilt a motor to my alltrac last winter. Never doin that agin

i checked my oil and i think its the rear main. im gonna get some quotes. i dont have any other transportation or time to do it
