lifting my 4x4
I'm trying to level out my 96 dodge 3500 4x4 it nose dives pretty bad but my question is whats the biggest spacer i can put on it without having to drop pitman arm or anything
I wouldn't go with anything over 2...it'll cause issues with the whole front end pulling itself out of alignment. Hellbentsteel sells 2 in leveling kits for around $70. I've used them before, and they work great, and easy install.
The biggest I have installed without touching anything is 2.5".... Thats only because someone asked me and paid me do do it. Even if i installed a 2" I would still put an adjustable trac bar in as the bare minimum!
Fully agree with what Matt and dennhop said, BUT you can get away running 3"...thats what i have on mine, all it could use is an adjustable trackbar and steering stabilizer which i have coming, otherwise you'll wear out balljoints and tie rods in time
if its sagging real bad ur springs r probably well worn u could just add a spacer or u could buy some real real **** like gen 3 front springs which have a higher weight rating if u have a big bumper or winch it will keep it from sagging, an level it out some. if ur just going with a spacer i would do a 2" an a adjustable track bar or else u will have to but a wheel spacer on the passenger front side to keep it even.
