Default Last 12 Valve?

I have a pestering question to ask all of yall, When was the last year for the 12valves? I've seen posts and heard people talk that they were stopped in '98 BUT I've seen '98.5 12valves with the quad cab, "The Holy Grail" as most put it. I have a dude tryin to tell me that no 12valves came off the line after '98.5, is this true?

Thanks yall

98 was the last year for a 12v. most guys refer to the early 98 for a 12v and 98.5 for the 24v.

X2 on that, and out in California the "The Holy Grail" is the '97 because it is "smog exempt"
The '98 12v has to have smog inspection.

Door style changed for the extended-cab for entire '98 model year, along with interior remodel. They continued the 12-valve installs until (theoretically) 12/31/97, with 24-valve engines going in on 1/1/98. And the "cat" was present for the early-98's but deleted for 98.5 and beyond
