Default New converter!

Well, I finally pulled the trigger on a reman triple disk last week and finally got it installed late last night. All I can say about it is WOW! The converter is a Suncoast billet triple disk that was freshened up by Phil Taylor at DPC. It's so nice to not have to floor the throttle just to merge on to the freeway anymore!. Now I know why everyone says the stock converter is a POS . All I need now is a billet input and I'll be ready for some SDX 5x.012 sticks!

monster12valve - It was $800 plus $90 for shipping and that included a prepaid return label for sending back my core. Also, DPC doesn't make you pay a core charge as long as you send the old one back within 30 days. I was really impressed with how fast he got my converter ready and shipped to me. He opened it up for inspection, freshened it up, changed the stall speed, got it welded up and shipped out the same day I called him!

Hartford59 - Everything I've done to it is in my sig. The trans seems to have been rebuilt not too long ago, although I'm not 100% sure. Mine used to drag a$$ so bad it wasn't even funny. The shift kit really helped tighten things and make the trans preform better, although it still seemed too slow. The stock converter is a grade A POS to say the least, I was literally "blowing through" the stock stall until the converter locked up. The new triple really puts the power to the ground, I can't believe how much power I was wasting just to make heat slipping the stocker. As monster12valve said a 4k gsk will help a LOT, but only if your able to put the power to the ground.

I just put a SB 475HP in my truck last week and I'm glad I can put power to the ground again too... I blew the center hub in my stock clutch to smithereens 2 weeks ago... it was slipping badly anyhow, so I was able to slide the fuel plate forward again
