Heater core questions??
Ok, here goes... I thought my blower motor was going south so I got one. Upon removal I noticed a bunch of mud(pretty much) in my heater box. I just got this truck about 4 months ago, a/c worked great, and heat also(as best as I could see @ 80 degrees) am I gona have another go with another heater core? If so, is it as bad as my 1st gen was?? This is crap, and I just sold my 1st gen Sat, so I got no other ride Thanks for any info

Yes just time consuming. Removing the tubes from the heater core in the engine bay are real hard, I just cut mine, and replace them, saves a hassle. The dash has a row of bolts at the top under the windshield, and one on each side on the dash, behind the kicker panel. those will let the dash rotate forward when they are loose. Drop the steering column, remove the airbag unit under the center of the dash and remove the tcase or tranny shifter to made things easier. You can rotate it out and pull off just the passenger side, most ppl use a strap from the dash to the upper grab handle. Then you got I think 4 screws on the firewall that hold the plastic unit the the firewall. The heater core is in there, and lifts out from the top. You can also change out the AC evaporator while you're there, thats on the underside of the plastic unit. Hope it goes smooth!!
