would it by chance retarded the timming and had the same effect? timing case cracked before i bought it. that is why my exhaust brake doesn't work... how do i check timing or pressurization

The timing requires a timing kit, and you can use a air nozzle and a rag in the filler neck. Be very gentle it takes very little pressure to find a leak. Have a friend look for the leak while you hold pressure on it. Why did your timing case effect the exhaust brake?

how much should it cost just to have a shop do the timing?

i thought it was freakin outragious as well. -Daves Diesel- same price to install freakin valve springs. (did those myself)

I usually do 2.3-3 hours max, more if you want it front seal and timing gasket at the same time.
