Default turning up fuel

does anyone know if you have to shave the fuel plate on a 12v cummins to turn fuel pump up

you can cut it (not a good idea if you never done it and dont make it rite) also my buddy bought a fuel plate off ebay for 20.00$ works better then mine did

You don't need to "cut" anything. You can grind your own fuel plate profile but like Blazier18 said it's not a good idea if you've never done it before. The first thing you need before you do anything is get a good set of gauges. Pyro, boost, and trans temp (if you have an auto) are all you need.

read the turning up the pump sticky that should give u an idea also whitt in the basement enterprises will do u a fuel plate a 100 profile.

if your lookin for power the best thing to do is yank the plate whole sale, but it gets hot fast

Agreed. No fuel plate = eye's glued to the pyro. I removed mine but running twins it cools off quickly. If running a single turbo I wouldn't do it. Way too hot. I can hit 1250-1300 on WOT then cools off right away. Water meth is my next addition. Do alot of towing loaded at 10K. Mountain passes I can hit 1200 rolling at 75mph. Water/meth would cool it to around 1000.
