Axle Bolts

Default Axle Bolts

My ton has a on gonning problem the driverside axle nuts keep backing out i've locktite them but keep backing out last fall had to pull the axle some of the studs broke off I had to take it to the machine shop to drill and taped but all 8 keep backing out.

You can either double nut them or try some nylockers (nylon lockers)

It's the bolt that hold the free flaoting axle to the hub that has the wheels studs not the studs that hold the wheel on sorry for the confusion.

use good lock tite that needs to be heated to be removed, oh and make sure the surface is good and clean before you put the loctite on.....

Yeah, which Loctite have you used?

Id say try the green stuff or maybe the Red (262 high strength)

tried the blue last time this time I'll try the red my brother inlaw said he can get some kind of industrial stuff.I thought about bearing mount not sure if it would hold.

all else fails do what I have done on my old ford, take your wire welder and just put 1 little tack on each bolt, use it as a last resort and make sure all your seals are good first cause it takes a minute with the angle grinder to get them off next time

Put the nuts on, Then Put another set of nuts on top, it works in some cases
