Automatic Transmission temp sensor
Well the other day I was pulling a trailer for my buddy and I lost My over drive and the transmission temp light came on at the dash. It was pooring rain that day im almost positive it is a eletrical problem with in the sensor because My pillar tranny temp gauge is still showing that my trans is running at the same tempture range it always does. So i crawled under my truck to take a look at the sensor and I can not find it worth a ****. I know its in the tranny line near the front drive shaft on the driver side but i still can not find this. I cant read the tag on the transmission my only thought is that the transmission is out of a 24v. so on these transmissions wheres the sensor In the Govenor houseing ???
uhhhh your talkin about 2 different trans
94-95RH have the trans temp in the line coming out of the front of the trans
96-02RE have the trans temp in the valve body
if its a RH get some dielectric grease for the connection
for an RE your into alot more work
after the trans cooled off did OD and lock up come back?

well I just ordered a new filter and gasket the other day so im going to drop the pan see how the fluid is. Im going to start with the sending unit. My pillar gauge is showing normall operating temptures.
MY truck does the same thing(97 12v), if i run it through the car wash the OD light goes out and the transmission temp light comes on. Once it dry's off it works fine. I haven't invested in a pillar gauge yet but plan to then i get some money.
