It all depends on the truck , mine made it to 280,000 before it started getting bad and cutting out on the top end , If you have the exta money laying around I would invest in a small airdog or fass, it just all depends on what your future power goals are, im running an airdog 150, i noticed a difference power wise by getting the air dog even from when my stock lift pump hadn't started going, the throttle became way more responsive and it picked up way better in the bottom end and top end.

thanks for the reply. 161 views but not comments on the matter. so having a airdog does that expand the life of the lift pump as well?

yeah it will help supply the fuel, its better to have to much fuel going in than not enough , I mean there is a fuel return line for a reason so whatever it doesnt use it just cycles back to the tank , feel free to ask questions and all explain to the best of my knowledge, there are cheaper pumps out there like the raptor 150 , I wanna say its around $200, it doesnt have air water seporators like the airdog's or fass's but will push the fuel which is really all that matters

I agree if you have the money put an aftermarket pump on ASAP. The CRD are a little more forgiving when the lift pump fails, but the 2nd gens are not!! You will probably end up replacing the injection pump within a year, if the lift pump completely craps on you. I have a FASS 95 on my 04' and like it although it seems a bit load for some reason, but haven't had any problems for years now.

Anyone know how much hp the stock lift pump can handle?? I'm doing a PPump swap, so I don't want to buy a mechanical lift pump if it won't handle my hp goals

if you doing a p pump swap i would advise you to invest in a airdog and do away with the stock fuel system completey(lines, filter, pump) cause i done a p pump swap and have had nuthing but trouble out of the stock crap loosing prime so i finally bought me a airdog. waiting for it to get here

Yea I decided to just get an airdog when I do my swap. I thought about it and figured I'd spend almost the same amount getting all the stock parts as i would if I just buy an airdog. thanks guys
