Question. I thought a shop had to rebuild turbos to get them balanced just right? Ive read the rebuild thread before but last I heard they had to be balanced..... someone clarify please.

To the OP, you want to see a turbo thats goin out, drive on over to my house

Burns oil like crazy and horrible shaft play, but its gettin fixed in the next two weeks.

True but not true

If you buy GENUINE parts they are pre balanced a guy can change wheels shafts bearings ect ect all day long and most 99% of the time never have an issue I have never sent a turbo off and never had an issue with one

if you want to send your turbo off it wont hurt it to get balanced but there are better things to do with the money

ever looked at a upgrade wheel? notice the notches? those are "pre" balanced wheels

rebuild it your self have no worries
