That pin can be a PITA to move if it hasn't been touched for 100,000 miles or so. Mine would only move till it hit the cam gear, then stop. A lot of lube spray and patience to get it to engage all the way.

 

i didnt use the pin i used a close hanger and watched it till the piston pushed it to the top and both rockers were loose then i made a mark adjusted them spun it 360* and did the rest! only thing left to do is flush everything out refill everything change my oil and fuel filter and drive it a few hours and check torque on bolts
