Default NO SMOKE?????

97 cummins, 12 valve,

I get a little smoke when I first start the truck but nothing after that. It has a new tranny, and i just changed the fuel filter, cleaned the pre fuel scree put a new air filter in and changed the oil. I want to install a fuel pressure gauge but where do you buy them and how do you install them? I have no power what so ever, driving on the highway and the slightest incline i will be going 55 floored (empty, no trailer) the truck use to do 70 or more up anything. there is no smoke coming out of the truck after starting. everything is stock on the truck. upgrades are an idea i am open to. but want to get the problem fixed The truck originally came out of CA, and i would like to loose the tube that comes from the exhaust manifold to the intake manifold if anyone has any ways how to block off the holes and what to do about the sensors.

Thanks for any help..

fostertruck(.)com has a fuel pressure gauge along with other really nice dodge parts for a good price.

I have tried the search function, i have read loss of power with lots of smoke.

The truck use to have a little smoke then i would put my foot into it but now nothing and no power either.

has anyone had the top end go out on there trucks when they are stock? and wouldn't this cause more smoke?

could a fuel shut-off solenoid be the problem?

Default NO SMOKE?????

Run it on a scanner. Might need someone to rebuild your injection pump. Make sure you have good fuel pressure first though.

check all your intercooler piping, if one poped off youre not making boost, the afc is not seeing boost on the pump limiting fuel, creating low power.
