Default Fuel heater

Hi everyone, I have a 1998 12V and was wondering if anyone has had to replace the fuel heater element/ wiring harness or have by-passed the strainer/ fuel heater right beside the fuel transfer pump?? Fuel heater/ strainer is leaking and just wondering what the best method would be??

You can take the strainer off the bottom, take the heater out, and then screw the strainer where the heater was. I've heard through third parties that the heater isn't required even in very cold areas. But, if you're looking to replace it, the Cummins part # is 3907766-S.

That's great info, thanks for all the help. That sounds like a plan and just remove the heater. Thanks
