You can also weld the nut on so it doesnt come loose, lots of people from back home fixed it that way.

Only downfall to welding it is unless you are a welder and have a lathe and proper understanding of deposition rates you will end up with an unbalanced shaft Wich short term has little consequence but eventually you'll be buying shaft gear nut bearing counter shaft etc etc balance is important at the speeds that shaft turns

Tonight I'm going to start taking everything out for mine so far im at 2500 after the clutch package (flywheel, Presure plate, and clutch) the tranny which was a 2wd so i had to swap the 2wd tail shaft and main shaft for a shorter 4wd and the 4wd tailshaft to fit the tcase and also on the 241 tcase they are a 23 input spline on the auto. it has to be updated to 29 spline for the tranny to be mated to the tcase. and i bought the clutch pedal assyembly and the hydros for 150 which is really good. all the rest like the computer and stuff can be blocked. the front driveshaft has to be shortened 6ins and the rear has to be lengthened 6in.

That's why you find a donor truck you'll be 4 grand into it if you don't
