Input shaft nv4500
not a whole lot. i just replaced the one in my buddies 98 with no plate, 370's n an hx40. if ur goin with an upgraded clutch, might as well change it while ur in there. it only takes like 15 min.
Yea, a friend of mine snapped his 98 with 370's, bigger turbo, 4 gsk and turned up pump. He certainly did beat on it though, Im surprised it lasted as long as it did even when tugging the sled.
Just got done replacing one on a friends truck hes not running more than 450HP. So....when my clutch went out I had peter send an 1 3/8" shaft to replace the stock one I think it will be money well spent.
Broke 2 in my truck and currently upgrading. Broke with what I have in my sig. It did have an estimated 450+hp for about 9 months before it broke the first time with a few other mods but de-tuned it to what it is now and made it bout a month and broke while lugging in 4th gear up a tiny hill no load. Then replaced shaft only and it made it 4 weeks and broke again exiting a round-about in 3rd or 4th gear. Starting to think it could have been a bearing going bad??? but either way its having the complete SB 1 3/8 kit in it in under 2 weeks and I think I might tune it up a little more once again.
I dOnt think a bearing would make it do that but possibly excess play that lets it hammer itself so to speak maybe. I think a bearing you'd know for sure
Thanks for the input guys I'm working on buying one. Anyone know where to just buy the retainer for 1 3/8 found a guy that has the input but no retainer. Could I sent to a machine shop an have them fab a different tube on the 1.25 retainer maybe? I can't remember if it's aluminum or not.
