I was thinking about lowering my egt's and have a tight budget, too low for water/meth inj. right now Would acid dipping or stripping the flakey paint off my intercooler increase its efficiency much?

cut a small hole in bottom of your intake box,get an oil filter cooler,put zmax in your truck

 

if he cuts a hole in the bottom of his air box he will be sucking dirt and **** threw his engine DO NOT DO THIS besides it looks like he takes his truck in the mud... acid dipping it isnt worth it BUT how good do u clean it after playing in the mud? it might be clogged hold a flashlight up to it and u should be able to see right threw it if its dirts pressure wash it but hold the pressure washer straight cuz if u dont it will bend the fins

 

Yeah, I wouldn't cut a hole in the airbox , although I clean my airfilter religiously. But thank you for the advice! Would a engine oil cooler and Zmax really lower egts though? That seems unlikely to me..

 

zmax yes it lowered mine about 90-100 farenhiet & the oil cooler should,if it doesnt itl help keep your engine run cooler though

 

i ment clean your intercooler sry i didnt say that when i was talkin about pressure washing also z max does work thats not a bad idea and and i have a crazy amount of work done to my truck and i flow almost 700cc of fuel and run 5k rpms and my oil never needed on kind of treatment (not saying it wont help just saying i never had to and i dont see how it would lower egts sence air doesnt touch oil but i have been wrong before) if u wanna lower egts and u were gunna spend the money to acid dip u might be better off just buying a water meth kit there is a few used setups for sale for 3-400 bucks with the controller and u get better mpg and in the summer u can run water and in the winter run washer fluid i hope this helps u
