how come my truck sputters?

how come when i rev my truck up it sputters an makes a poping sound?

bad fuel? air in the line? Is it just in neutral or while driving?

does it do it all the time or just on start up? i kno when i first start my truck it does the samething, unless she is already warmed up.

The timing needs to advanced some. The gear is press fit on the ip shaft so over time it slips and retards the timing.

Yup either the timing needs to be advanced or you are running out of fuel pressure. I bet timing...........

I say timing also. Had the same problem and advanced the timing to clear it up. very well could be the bad fuel in your case. You said you haven't drove it in over a year. Was it doing it when you parked it?
