I've got a 5 spd with a 3:54 and mine will top out at about 82 83 mph. And I have 0 fuel plate star wheel turned and alittle bit of pump work. Exhaust and intake to. But. It'll get there quick. But when she hits top end thats all she wrote. Have a 4k ask and 60lbs spring on my dresser. Just making time to do it is the problem

yea my truck gets there ok. sometimes i think its a quick truck, other times(most of the time) i think is a bit of a turd, but overal its a pretty impressive truck for a diesel truck in 1994.

best way to check speed is take a gps with you
when i took my fuel plate out my clutch only lasted a month before it would slip so you can plan on replacing your clutch pretty soon

with my buddy's gps phone in hand at 70mph im really doing 74mph.

the clutch is on its way. i assume its been replaced with an aftermarket unit of some sort or at least a stock replacement because i can still lug a gear with the pedal to the floor and not have any slip. however, every now and then it definitly lets go... im just gonna let it ride untill the truck no longer moves. if it is a stock clutch id be somewhat impressed with the fact that its still working half way decent, it made it through some truck pulls and i havnt noticed it getting any worse, i snapped a front axle shaft and the clutch was still holding on.

well i somewhat solved my problem for free. i adjusted the stock governer springs 4 clicks tighter, it pulls hard right up to 3200 rpms now. the downside is i went to far, 3 clicks is whats recomended aparently, 4 clicks made the idle higher, no big deal after adjusting it back down to 850rpms but now it starts up like a duramax, takes a few revolutions unless you just crackt he throttle in which case it starts up just the same or quicker. ill probably move it back to 3 clicks and let you guys know how it goes, i might just get used to cracking the throttle before starting it tho, i already have to pull a string to start it so who really cares.
