should they be kickin on when the truck is running? it was -16 here this mornin (truck was NOT HAPPY about that one) n they are cycling every couple of seconds.
Thought there was an engine or air temp sensor that had a part in this also. Some one should know.

Does it cycle all the time?

yup, mine does the same thing....i'll try to find the web page I read that describes how many second they stay on before startup and how many minutes they cycle after after startup depending on the air temp. Not to hijack the thread, but my truck this morning just did not want to stop smoking white/blue even after the temp. gauge reached the bottom of range....is that to be expected with these cold temps, or is that the high mileage talking?
when i went to come home after the STEELERS game last night, it was -10 n she was blowin white smoke the whole way. my fuel is definitely treated well enough, so i think its just cuz of the extreme cold. but as for the speedo, when i put the 5 speed in, it read about 15 mph off, so i switched the gear in the tail end of the transfer case n now it dont work at all. do u have to pull that tail housing off n switch both the plastic speedo gears?

i think the smoke is just condensation cuz of the huge difference in temp, say ur cruisin egt's are750-800, its comin out the pipe into -10. prolly just freezin the water in ur exhaust gas

also, have u ever done the timing on ur truck dustin?

nope, as far as I know the timing is still stock. When I came home this morning (10am) from class it was still only 5 degrees or so and it cleared up so who knows.....I guess we just arent used to these colder temps!
