verify resistance on pcm ground circuts, it it was ok for a while then went nuts it could be heat building up in a ground due to crap resistance
load sides usually look ok and dont show issues but grounds are far more important due to the fact they are normally shared with splices
try grounding the body to the powertrain also

let me know what changes if anything
good luck

Sounds good M.T.S.M.T.M. I will try that tomorrow, it started when my Battery died, I didn't have a volt meter @ the time so I put new Group 65 Battery and I didn't have the volt gauge yet so about 5-6 days in to the new battery lights were getting dim so I charged the battery & got a V.R. and noticed lights were bright as heck so I put on volt gauge & noticed 16 volts so that's when I started messing with grounds, about the pcm this motor is a1992 Cummins transplant in 1989 RamCharger that I did not do & there was already a external V.R. sorry about the long rambling but I do appreciate your response

hey guys 1 more thingwhen I bend up the prongs at the alternator where the little black box is or the wires go to the V.R. drove the truck for about 15 minute volts were at 14 then I heard a sound from the alternator and volts shut up to 16 it's a brand new alternator hope I didn't damage anythingI taped up the prongs that were at the black box
