Default Breaks up when reving

my 94 12 valve when you rev the engine in neutral it breaks up and shoots white smoke. The truck has 140hp ddp injectors and a #100 fuel plate. I dont know of any pump work done to it. Also when your going down the road just cruising the truck acts like it wants to stall kinda like being in to high of gear. Just got the truck and dont know much about them. The fuel plate is pushed all the way back because the clutch cant take the power. Im savin for a south bend. Any ideas?

The nuetral reving with popping and white smoke gives a hint of timing being retarded. Just an idea

The timing tool and some time. I have done several trucks and its not that hard. I believe there may be some other ways that guys have developed but im unsure! I just use the timing tool from snap-on.

my truck breaks up and white smokes when its cold. im pretty sure these trucks just dont run good untill they warm up, either way i plan on doing the timing as soon as a get a dial indicator. from what i understand you just need a dial indicator to do timing, right? iv been needing to replace my dial indicator anyway...

u need a dial indicator, the base that screws into ur DV (delivery valve) hole, a DV socket to remove it, torque wrench to tighten it back up, and a gear puller
