Default 97 with a 160hp pump??????

Hey guys. Before I bought my 97 I was under the impression that all p pumps were equal. With that being said I looked on my engine after doing some research and found that my engine was the 160hp engine. I am assuming that it has the 160 pump on it. I was led to believe that 97's came with the 180hp pump? If this is true can do anything to my 160 to make it a 180 pump? My goal is 600-700hp and I know it is alot more diffcult to get that out of a 160 pump. Wish I would have found this out before l bought the truck.

That was very helpful. Thanks alot. Although I couldn't get to my bosch plate on the pump to read the numbers I did read the cpl # which was 2174 so I assume I have the 180hp pump?

i think thats a safe bet. I know that if its a California truck(emission crap) it may differ. I found a site that told me the capiblitys of each pump.....i want to say the thing that may hold you back is the cam shaft in the pump. but if i recall(i may be mistaken so dont quote me.) that comes into effect at like 1000hp....

that dodgeram.org is one of my favorite sites...if you look hard enough you can just about find anything.
