I had a oil pressure sending unit that was leaking and while I was fixing it I saw a plastic cover that runs the length of the drivers side and behind the pump. This cover looks worped and I was wandering exactly what it is and what purpose does it serve? Im assuming its plastic, I tappd it with a screw driver and thats what it seemd like. Could somone please enlighten me on this...

 

tappet cover possibly?? picturin the motor in my head thats all i can think of

 

There is no oil leaking out of or anything....Im not sure what it is?

Is it the pushrod cover?

 

 

x2 on the tappet/pushrod cover, they have flimsy plastic outside covers

 

It seems like its the outside part of the pushrod cover. As long as it dont start leaking imma leave it like it is. Hopefully I can get away with it for a while before it starts leaking
