3" stpipe, no cat, no muffler. Will a performance chip help milage? If so which one and where is it installed

 

well i got some bad news for ya.... can't put a chip on a 96 the 12v motors in the truck is all mechanically controlled so there is no computer for a chip to plug into or work off of

 

u need to do some major research

 

so do the exhaust then learn how to turn it up mechanically i wouldn't buy an exhaust i would just go to a semi parts place and make a 5" exhaust

 

Theres some bad news then theres better news. Your truck is mechanichal like everybody said so you can plug and play but the better news is you can turn up your p7100 for free basically which would be the same as chipping it without spending that extra money. And for an exhaust dont buy one like ztk7220 said. 12v cummins are one of the most high potential engines in the industry.
