i have one on my 95, its probally been on there 20k+ miles and all i really had for a long time is a single disk billet tc and reprogramming kit and the rest of the trans held up fine, mine is wired up on a relay and shit so that when you step on the brake the trans will come out of lockup

yeah my lock up switch gets locked in sometimes when you try and turn it off and it gets sketchy no idea how to fix it though haha

what is the point of the lock up?

monster12valve 10-07-2010 06:00 AM

locks the tc..... makes 0-60 times alot faster.

when your accelerating and shifting gears with it locked, how hard does it bang gears? at what HP level would you guys suggest getting a billet input shaft?

monster12valve 10-09-2010 06:04 AM

u could easily break the stock input shaft if u shift with it engaged.

i will put mine in lock-up in 2nd and let it shift thru 3rd and od and it doesnt kick at all really, if i put in lock up in 2nd it seems to kick it right to 3rd and i have had the switch on there for 20k+ miles with all stock shafts and a single disk billet and the only to break so far was the flex plate, im probally just on borrowed time tho

yeah my buddy runs the dog shit out of his truck in lock up but sometimes he lets the lock up button go to let it shift i only use my to roal coal for miles really

I'm trying to troubleshoot of fix a problem happening on the T/C on my truck.
It just doesn't stay in lockout... and when it tries to get into lockout, the truck kinda grumbles.
If I feather the throttle pedal, it will shift into lockout.
I'm wondering if adding a switch and using the switch only to lockout the T/C when it normally would be would still cause problems on the transmission?

Thanks

I have the same problem. I notice when i adjusted the kickdown cable, or throttle valve cable, it seamed to steady the problem a little. I need a new cable since mine jumps out of adjustment but if the throttle valve cable is not right, it will not shift right. TC lockup switch will not fix that problem. Also finding out that your trans temp gauge or tps sensor could also be affecting the problem. Then there is always the solenoid valve in the trans.
